NR 12 Brazilian Standard Download

Throughout the Brazil, NR 12, “on machinery and work equipment safety”, sets the foundation for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic safety requirements of every industrial machinery locally manufactured or imported. The first edition of the NR 12 Brazilian standard was published in 1978 with the aim to improve the safety of industrial machinery, and it has become mandatory for manufacturers and employers in 2010. As unsafe equipment and industrial machinery has become widespread, the NR 12 has been revised to meet the challenges.
Over the years NR 12 Regulation has been subject to various additions and modifications, however it is in 2018 that the greatest number of revisions were recorded:

Following a list of the most significant aspects changed in year 2018:
- Command and control systems of machinery
- Risk of person staying in the danger zone
- Visibility from the emergency reset point
- Human-machine interaction related to spaces and workstations
- Training of workers
- Safety systems to prevent risk of electric shock in operators' lifting equipment
- Requirements of specific machinery
